One of the most serious side effects is organ failure. While I might be able to live without a kidney, I'm fairly sure I need my heart. Those commercials horrify me. I don'...I'm with you. Those commercials horrify me. I don't live with any chronic maladies, so I can't make judgments on those who do, but the trade-offs seem pretty harsh a lot of the time.<BR/><BR/>What really gets me is that I think we're one of only two industrialized nations who allow direct marketing of PRESCRIPTION drugs to consumers. (I think New Zealand is the other, which doesn't make sense to me either.) Is it really a good idea for a population, over half of which takes the bible literally, among other things (*cough* horoscopes *cough* "The Secret" *cough* alien abduction) to ask/tell their doctors what medications they should be on? It mystifies and saddens me. Oh well, there are plenty of things that do that...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
